How to Join or Renew Your Membership

The Association for Chinese Art History (ACAH) offers book prizes, conference panel sponsorship, virtual programs, funding opportunities, and resources including a member listserv—a community for scholars of Chinese art history worldwide!

A biweekly newsletter helps keep ACAH members attuned to: upcoming events and exhibitions; calls for papers and participation; opportunities for fellowships, grants, prizes, and internships; jobs and positions for post-docs; recent publications and dissertations; fellow members’ research and curatorial projects; and the latest news from the field.

New and continuing members of ACAH must be current members of the Association for Asian Studies (AAS); as an AAS Sponsored Group, ACAH receives non-profit status and administrative support from AAS. Annual membership fees are USD$20 per year (plus $1.50 credit card processing fee) and are waived for students, contingent faculty, and unaffiliated scholars, who may pay what and if they wish. ACAH memberships align with the calendar year, beginning on January 1st and ending on December 31st. The ACAH membership application/renewal period will be open October 1st to December 31st of each year. ACAH memberships applied or renewed before October 1st will expire on December 31st of the same year. ACAH memberships applied or renewed after October 1st will expire no sooner than the next year. You may choose to join ACAH or renew your ACAH membership for one, two, or three years.

All new members should download and fill out the Membership Form, and return it by email attachment to achinesearthistory@gmail.com with confirmation of credit card payment from AAS or check number (if applicable). If you are renewing an existing membership, you do not need to fill out a membership form. Changes in contact or other information should be updated by email to achinesearthistory@gmail.com.   

To pay by credit card, go to the “Sponsored Groups” webpage of the AAS website and click on “Make Committee Payments/Donations” at the top of the page. Scroll down to “Association for Chinese Art History (ACAH) at the bottom of the page and click on the green “Donate” button.

Please log in using the email address and password associated with your AAS membership. If you are joining or renewing your ACAH membership for one year, please check the button next to $21.50. If you are joining or renewing your ACAH membership for two years, please write in the amount $41.50. If you are joining or renewing your ACAH membership for three years, please write in the amount $61.50.

The payment confirmation from AAS will be sent to the email address associated with your AAS membership, or you can download the pdf from the Purchases tab in your AAS profile. Please submit the payment confirmation, along with the Membership Form, to achinesearthistory@gmail.com. You will receive confirmation of your active ACAH membership by return email. 

To pay by check, please write the check to “Association for Asian Studies” for $20/40/60, indicate “ACAH” in the “for” line, and mail to:
